We are Rick and Sarah Donders,
the owners of Family Inn in Kaatsheuvel.

We love welcoming guests who want to stay near Efteling for a few days and explore the beautiful region of North Brabant.

How Family Inn started

When we bought our home in Kaatsheuvel in 2014, the space where Family Inn is now located was still an old shoemaker’s workshop. At first, we mainly used it for storage during the renovation of our house. But as the renovation progressed, we kept asking ourselves: what should we do with all this extra space?

The answer came naturally. We decided to create a comfortable holiday apartment in Kaatsheuvel for guests looking for accommodation near Efteling, with a focus on comfort, space, and a great location. What started as an idea at the kitchen table slowly grew into a real plan.

After lots of dreaming, planning, and hard work, we finally opened the doors of Family Inn in November 2021.

Why we love Kaatsheuvel and the surrounding area

We are not originally from Kaatsheuvel, which actually helped us discover how beautiful this area truly is.



Of course, Efteling is a major attraction, but Kaatsheuvel and the Brabant region have so much more to offer. Think of walking or mountain biking in the stunning Loonse and Drunense Dunes, the largest drifting sand area in Western Europe. You’ll also find charming villages, beautiful nature, and plenty of opportunities for day trips.

A place where families feel at home

As a family with two children, we know how important it is to have a place where everyone can relax after a day full of experiences. That’s exactly the feeling we aim to give our guests.

Whether you’re visiting Efteling with your family, planning a weekend getaway, or exploring the nature of Brabant, Family Inn offers a comfortable and spacious place to stay where you can unwind and enjoy time together.

We regularly host guests from different countries. In addition to Dutch, we speak German and English, so everyone feels welcome and at home right away.
